Baseball Game Preview: Warren Dragons vs. Cathedral Prep Ramblers

Warren hasn't had much luck against Cathedral Prep recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Dragons will be playing at home against the Ramblers at 4:00 p.m. Warren has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Warren came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against McDowell, falling 12-2.

Warren saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Duncan McGarry, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Cathedral Prep came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Ramblers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Derick Friedman made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davin Friedman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was KJ Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Cathedral Prep's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Warren, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
