Football Recap: Germantown's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

If Germantown was riding high fresh off their 45-21 takedown of Memphis Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Red Devils and the DeSoto Central Jaguars didn't end well, with the Red Devils falling 44-28. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

DeSoto Central was led to victory by Eric Perry and Cade Rodgers. Perry rushed for 248 yards and four scores on only 12 carries, while Rodgers rushed for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Perry is now averaging an impressive 118 rushing yards per game.

Having lost for the first time this season, Germantown fell to 6-1. As for DeSoto Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Germantown will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on White Station at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for DeSoto Central, they will be playing at home against Lewisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' defense better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 26.4 points per game this season.
