Basketball Recap: Ansley/Litchfield Find Success

While Ansley/Litchfield has struggled on the road with five straight losses, that wasn't the case on Saturday thanks to Luke Bailey. The Ansley/Litchfield Spartans walked away with a 48-39 victory over the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons thanks in part to Bailey, who went 6 of 7 en route to 17 points along with five boards and four steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Ansley/Litchfield's points.

Chayton Jensen was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Kaleb Johnson and Micah Johnson certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Kaleb dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Micah went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Kaleb has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times he's played.

The win got Ansley/Litchfield back to even at 7-7. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Ansley/Litchfield is taking a road trip to take on South Loup at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they will welcome Axtell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
