Softball Recap: Butte Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Big Sky, Butte was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Flathead Braves a 1-0 shutout. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Brea Henderson, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Flathead off the board.

At the plate, Butte's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Allie Becker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Becker has snagged this season.

Butte now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Flathead, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Butte wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-5 defeat against Glacier on the 25th. As for Flathead, they will challenge Big Sky at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
