The Monahans Loboes will take on the Fort Stockton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monahans has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 290 points over their last six contests.
Last Friday, Monahans took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 49-13 victory over Pecos. 49 seems to be a good number for Monahans as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Fort Stockton on the road against Clint on Friday as the team secured a 54-21 win.
Fort Stockton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marco Garcia led the charge by throwing for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes, while also rushing for 101 yards on only seven carries. Corbin Luna was another key contributor, rushing for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 6-0 season records intact.
Monahans beat Fort Stockton 38-29 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Fort Stockton's Isaiah Garcia, who threw for 25 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes, and also rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns.
