Imperial Valley recap November 13, 2013

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Southwest, who took down 600th ranked Calexico, 26-21.

The Eagles moved up to 799 from 841 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Imperial Valley. Southwest climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Bulldogs 26-21.

Imperial's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Carter threw for 264 and 4 touchdowns and DaJon Staton had 139 yards receiving. On the ground Royce Freeman contributed 118 yards. Carlos Villanueva helped Imperial's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 68 yards.

He went 19-30 with 0 interceptions.

Freeman was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 118 yards as the Tigers bested Palo Verde Valley. Teammate Carter added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.

On the heels of Carter and Freeman, Imperial has had great success on offense. Carter leads the league in passing with 1,023 yards, while Freeman has rushed for 2,426 yards this season. The Yellowjackets' Damian Ramirez leads the league in receiving yards with 1,218 on 52 catches.

Kerry Legarra's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Palo Verde Valley, 62-3. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
