Softball Recap: Dobie Triumphs

Dobie's tournament run continued when they took on V.R. Eaton on Friday. The Dobie Longhorns came out on top against the V.R. Eaton Eagles by a score of 7-2.

Dobie got a great performance from Vanessa De La Fuente as she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. De La Fuente has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks every time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Lili Sepulveda was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Natalie De Hoyos was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Dobie's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for V.R. Eaton, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Dobie wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-5 defeat against Burleson on the 14th. V.R. Eaton has also already played their next contest (against Rudder), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
