Fort Sumner/House will head into Saturday's contest having proved themselves against Roy/Mosquero: Fort Sumner/House took a 68-point loss the last time they faced off against Roy/Mosquero, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Fort Sumner/House came out on top in a nail-biter against Roy/Mosquero last Saturday, sneaking past 58-55. The 58-point effort marked Fort Sumner/House's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Magdalena faced Texico in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Saturday. Magdalena fell 53-41 to Texico. The Steers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Fort Sumner/House pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.1 points. As for Magdalena, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Fort Sumner/House beat Magdalena 45-38 when the teams last played back in March. Will Fort Sumner/House repeat their success, or does Magdalena have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
