Basketball Recap: Blacksburg Takes a Loss

Blacksburg lost against Broome two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blacksburg Wildcats took a hard 60-44 fall against the Broome Centurions. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Blacksburg still got an impressive performance from Cameron Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jd Bonner, who posted seven points.

Even though they lost, Blacksburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Broome, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Blacksburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-58 win against Liberty on the 20th. Broome and Chapman will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th.
