St. Johns Country Day will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Parsons Christian Academy on Thursday. Everything went St. Johns Country Day's way against Parsons Christian Academy as St. Johns Country Day made off with a 19-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.
Taigen Lebel and Gabi Oceguera did most of the damage at the plate: Lebel scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Oceguera went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ciera White, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Peniel Baptist Academy made easy work of Hawthorne on Friday and carried off a 17-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Alexis Peacock made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Peacock was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Peniel Baptist Academy got a massive performance out of Allison Peacock, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Peacock a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shanley Jenkins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Peniel Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hawthorne only posted an OBP of .250.
The victory got St. Johns Country Day back to even at 1-1. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
