Baseball Recap: Seminole Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Glades Day

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seminole Ridge). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Glades Day Gators a 21-0 shutout on Thursday. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gators, too.

Brandon Turner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Turner was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which washis first of the season.

In other pitching news, Gage Roof looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Grady Endemann, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Luke Vento was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Seminole Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Seminole Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Glades Day and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Seminole Ridge will take on Park Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Park Vista: 3.5, Seminole Ridge: 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Glades Day, they will challenge Glades Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
