Rural Vista [Hope/White City] might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 45-31 to Wakefield, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Rural Vista [Hope/White City]'s defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Rural Vista [Hope/White City] had strong showings from Clara Noeth, who scored five points along with six rebounds, and Angie Linder, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Linder hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games.
Rural Vista [Hope/White City] struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wakefield racked up 13 assists.
Paige Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wakefield, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Wakefield's points. Allison Adams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and four steals.
Rural Vista [Hope/White City] dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wakefield, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rural Vista [Hope/White City] will take on Canton-Galva at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to square off against Herington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wakefield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
