Basketball Game Preview: Elwood Panthers vs. Muncie Burris Owls

The Elwood Panthers will square off against the Muncie Burris Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Elwood is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Alexandria-Monroe just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 66-27 loss at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Tigers are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Muncie Burris was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Shenandoah 58-21. That's two games in a row now that the Owls have lost by exactly 37 points.

Muncie Burris' loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Elwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Elwood came up short against Muncie Burris when the teams last played back in November of 2020, falling 44-31. Thankfully for Elwood, Emily Adamowicz (who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time.
