Soccer Game Preview: Stall vs. James Island

The Stall Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the James Island Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Stall has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while James Island will arrive with 11 straight victories.

Stall fell victim to Fort Dorchester and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, James Island is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of A.C. Reynolds. The Trojans' defense stepped up to hand the Rockets a 3-0 shutout. James Island's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matchups.

James Island pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those seven games. As for Stall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Stall suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to James Island in their previous matchup on April 4th. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
