Softball Recap: California School for the Deaf-Riverside's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Public Safety Academy Phoenix on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cubs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Zoe Beltran-Giudice and Juliana Diaz did most of the damage at the plate: Beltran-Giudice scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Diaz scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Diaz has posted since back in April of 2024. Veronika Perez-Mejia was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

California School for the Deaf-Riverside's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Public Safety Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

California School for the Deaf-Riverside will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Indian Springs at 4:30 p.m. on April 1. As for Public Safety Academy, they will face off against Sherman Indian at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
