Baseball Game Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Aldine Mustangs

For the second straight game, Eisenhower will face off against Aldine. The Eagles will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

Eisenhower managed to slip by Aldine the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

For Aldine's part, Orlando Reyes and Jansyel Barbosa did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Barbosa scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Barbosa has posted since back in April of 2024. Julian Velez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Aldine's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Eisenhower, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
