Game recap: Cathedral Prep takes down General McLane

ERIE, Pa. - Cathedral Prep (Erie, Pa.) snapped the four-game winning streak of General McLane (Edinboro, Pa.), with a 61-7 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Ramblers were up 41-7 at the half.

Cathedral Prep expanded its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. CP scored two times in the third, including once on a Billy Fessler touchdown run.

With the win the Erie school extended its winning streak to 10 games. Cathedral Prep defeated East 70-8 last week.

Bednarowicz was the top performer for the Ramblers. He kicked eight extra points.



General McLane's only touchdown came on a 13-yard pass from Zach Fox to Cubby Nesselhauf in the first quarter.

Cathedral Prep went into the matchup giving up only 10.4 points per game. General McLane's seven points were well below their season average of 38.2 per game. General McLane came in surrendering 15.3 points per game this season. GM struggled against Cathedral Prep's offense, which entered the game scoring 36.4 points per game.

The loss comes after General McLane defeated Central Tech 21-14 last week.
