Softball Recap: South Kingstown Falls Short Against Ranked Westerly

South Kingstown faced Westerly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rebels lost 16-2 to the Bulldogs. The Rebels have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Tessa O'Sullivan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Abigail O'Rourke also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

South Kingstown's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Westerly, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Kingstown will host East Greenwich at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Avengers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Westerly, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Waterford at 4:30 p.m.
