The state of Texas came up big in the MaxPreps final small schools national baseball rankings, claiming the top two spots on the list led by No. 1 West.

West won the Class 3A state championship for the second-straight year and finished two notches higher in the small school national rankings after finishing No. 3 last season. West is one of six Texas teams to make the final small school rankings. The others include No. 2 Bosqueville, No. 9 Central Heights, No. 20 Beckville, No. 23 Flatonia (the 2A state champion) and No. 25 Shallowater.

Oklahoma Class 3A state champion Verdigris comes in at No. 3 after being ranked No. 1 in the last small school rankings released in early May. Undefeated St. Mary Catholic, the Wisconsin Division 3 champion, is No. 4 while Kossuth, the Mississippi Class 3A winner, is No. 5.

The small schools rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Baseball Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Small schools are those that play in state enrollment divisions that generally have fewer than 1,000 students.
