Preview: Whites Creek Cobras vs. McGavock Raiders
Whites Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the McGavock Raiders at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Whites Creek has not done well against Hunters Lane recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Whites Creek claimed a resounding 49-16 win over Hunters Lane at home.
Whites Creek can attribute much of their success to Rickiya Rawlings, who scored 12 points. The match was Rawlings' fourth in a row with at least ten points. A'mya Hooten was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Meanwhile, McGavock put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Glencliff, posting a 71-4 win on the road. The result was nothing new for McGavock, who have now won four matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.
The losses dropped Whites Creek to 2-4 and Hunters Lane to 0-5.
Whites Creek took a serious blow against McGavock when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 52-25. Can Whites Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
