After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cardinal Newman, Chico was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Enterprise Hornets with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Chico took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-9, 25-15.

Chico can attribute much of their success to Emma Young, who had eight assists and five aces. That's the most aces Young has posted over her last 11 matchups. Italia Thompson also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Chico was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.

Chico now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Enterprise, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Chico and Red Bluff will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Enterprise, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Trinity on the 25th.
