Soccer Game Preview: Gainesville vs. Independence

The Gainesville Cardinals will head out to take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Gainesville faced off against Battlefield on Friday. The Cardinals came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0. Considering the last time Gainesville couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Independence hasn't lost a match since March 17th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They never let Unity Reed get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Independence, who have now won nine matches by four goals or more so far this season.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 13-1-1. As for Gainesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Gainesville suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Independence when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
