The Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders will challenge the Homer-Center Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop Guilfoyle's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Purchase Line 38-0. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Red Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Bishop Guilfoyle, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Justin Wheeler, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Homer-Center on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 30-6 margin over Moshannon Valley.
Bishop Guilfoyle better focus on containing Carson Arone and Gabe Cobaugh as the pair were huge in Homer-Center's win. Arone rushed for 53 yards and a pair of TDs, while Cobaugh rushed for 44 yards and two scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Homer-Center proved: they limited Moshannon Valley to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. While two picked up at least one total tackle, Arone stood above the rest. He rushed for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 140 yards while completing 77.8% of his passes. Homer-Center's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 2.7.
Homer-Center didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Deegan Fedoruk led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.
Bishop Guilfoyle's record now sits at 9-2. As for Homer-Center, their record is now 8-3.
