Volleyball Recap: Speedway Falls to Lebanon in First Game of Season

Speedway kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Lebanon Tigers, falling 3-0. The Sparkplugs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-6, 25-11.

Josie Hopkins paced Speedway's offense, picking up five kills. Hopkins got some help from Izzy Bigelow and her four assists.

The victory keeps Lebanon at an undefeated 5-0.

Speedway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on the 21st. As for Lebanon, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Hamilton Heights on the 20th.
