Basketball Preview: Chapin Eagles vs. White Knoll Timberwolves
Chapin and the Timberwolves are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Chapin Eagles will head out on the road to take on the White Knoll Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. White Knoll took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chapin, who comes in off a win.
Even though Chapin has not done well against the Silver Foxes recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Chapin narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Silver Foxes 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, White Knoll pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-57 to Lexington. While losing is never fun, White Knoll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Wildcats are ranked third).
Chapin's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for White Knoll, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.
Chapin might still be hurting after the 64-40 defeat they got from the Timberwolves when the teams last played back in January. Can Chapin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
