Baseball Recap: Lexington Find Success

The third road matchup was the charm for Lexington, as they earned their first road win of the season. They won by a run and slipped past the East Lawrence Eagles 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Lawrence Corum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Corum was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Parker Cole was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Carlock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Lexington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

The win got Lexington back to even at 2-2. As for East Lawrence, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Lexington and East Lawrence will both be playing Hatton the next time they take the field. Lexington will head out to face Hatton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while East Lawrence will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
