Football Recap: Pen Argyl Find Success

Pen Argyl lost to Bangor back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Green Knights came out on top against the Slaters by a score of 32-21. The game was the first time the Green Knights have beaten the Slaters on their field since October 26, 2019.

Pen Argyl had a senior duo take command as Mason Soos rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown and Caiden Faust gained 148 total yards and two touchdowns. Soos' passing game has become a key predictor of the Green Knights' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Bangor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lincoln Rehrig, who threw for 128 yards and three TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes, and Jacob Hillis, who picked up 38 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The win made it two in a row for Pen Argyl and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Bangor, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

As of now, neither Pen Argyl nor the Slaters have any future games scheduled.
