Basketball Recap: Central Davidson Drops Season-High Score on Oak Grove

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Davidson). They enjoyed a cozy 77-59 win over the Oak Grove Grizzlies on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Despite the loss, Oak Grove still got an impressive performance from Max Hurt, who went 9-for-12 en route to 27 points and six boards. What's more, Hurt also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Loucas Shoaf was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Central Davidson's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for Oak Grove, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Coming up, Central Davidson will head out on the road to take on Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
