Softball Recap: Boca Ciega Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lakewood last Monday, Boca Ciega came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 13-2 to the Hollins Royals on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Royals: they've now lost five in a row.

Lexi Bordeaux made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Boca Ciega's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Hollins, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boca Ciega will square off against St. Petersburg Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates are facing the Barons at the right time seeing as the Barons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hollins, they will take on St. Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
