Basketball Game Preview: Lee's Summit Tigers vs. Raymore-Peculiar Panthers

Lee's Summit and Raymore-Peculiar are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lee's Summit Tigers take on the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Raymore-Peculiar took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lee's Summit, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Lee's Summit didn't have too much trouble with Raytown South as they won 39-23. The 39-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Raymore-Peculiar entered their contest against Staley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Raymore-Peculiar came up short against Staley, falling 58-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Falcons are ranked third).

Raymore-Peculiar's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5. As for Lee's Summit, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Lee's Summit beat Raymore-Peculiar 52-44 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Lee's Summit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Raymore-Peculiar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
