Soccer Game Preview: Amherst County vs. Heritage

The Amherst County Lancers will square off against the Heritage Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Amherst County will be strutting in after a win while Heritage will be coming in after a loss.

Amherst County is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Nelson County on Thursday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Amherst County in their matchups with Nelson County: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Liberty Christian, falling 10-0.

The win got Amherst County back to even at 2-2. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Amherst County's way against Heritage in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Amherst County made off with a 5-0 victory. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
