Football Recap: Jaylen Arnold's Menacing Defense Leads Overhills over Hoke County + How To Watch

Overhills needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Clarence Teewia. The Jaguars strolled past the Hoke County Bucks with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 24-6 for which the team can thank Teewia, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

One reason for the win was Overhills' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Jaylen Arnold was especially locked on to Hoke County's QB and sacked him twice. Arnold has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times he's played. Zi'mire Graham was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble, making 11 total tackles, and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

The win got Overhills back to even at 3-3. As for Hoke County, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Overhills will venture away from home to face off against Pinecrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoke County, they will welcome Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bucks will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
