Basketball Recap: Cristian Botello's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Deerfield over Attica

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deerfield can now relate to. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Attica Bulldogs. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Deerfield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristian Botello, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Adriel Clymer, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Mac Harnden had a dynamite game for Attica, going 6-for-12 en route to 26 points. The dominant performance gave Harnden a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Swingle, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Deerfield's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Attica, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13.

As of now, neither Deerfield nor Attica have any future games scheduled.
