Andover and Andover Central are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Andover Trojans will be playing at home against the Andover Central Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Andover comes in on nine and Andover Central on three.

Andover is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Maize South, who was ranked ninth at the time (Andover was ranked 14th). Andover put the hurt on Maize South with a sharp 67-45 win on Tuesday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Andover Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 55-49 W over Salina Central.

Andover Central's win came from a few key players Andover will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kelsey Barscewski, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylin Tabor, who scored 14 points and three steals.

Andover's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for Andover Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
