Preview: Northbrook Raiders vs. Cy-Fair Bobcats
Northbrook is 0-10 against Cy-Fair since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northbrook Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Cy-Fair Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Northbrook's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Memorial on the road and fell 80-13. While losing is never fun, Northbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1485th, while Memorial is ranked 330th).
Meanwhile, Cy-Fair lost a heartbreaker to Cypress Creek when they met back in December of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Cy-Fair had to suffer through a rough 62-34 loss at the hands of Cypress Creek. Cy-Fair was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
Macy Eaken was Cy-Fair's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Eaken held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Northbrook bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.3 points per game. As for Cy-Fair, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Northbrook was dealt a bruising 53-11 defeat at the hands of Cy-Fair in their previous matchup back in January. Can Northbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
