Basketball Recap: Mulvane Comes Up Short

Mulvane played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 70-42 loss at the hands of the Labette County Grizzlies. The Wildcats were down 60-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Mulvane's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Myers, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave Myers a new career-high. Manny Myers was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Labette County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kegan Bates, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Hestand, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Mulvane now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Labette County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mulvane didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-71 win against Independence on the 14th. As for Labette County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-34 loss against Collegiate on the 14th.
