In other batting news, Amya Irving was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Jaelynn Harraden was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Upper Cape Cod RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .541 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bristol-Plymouth RVT, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Diman RVT get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Craftsmen in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won four in a row.
The result came thanks to Gabrianna Arrighi's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bristol-Plymouth RVT saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessica Slavick, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Bristol-Plymouth RVT pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
