Softball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in April.

Ava Jacklin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Lyons' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lyons will challenge rival York at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest is set to square off against their familiar foe Glenbard West at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
