Volleyball Game Preview: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Pocono Mountain West Panthers

The Western Wayne Wildcats will face off against the Pocono Mountain West Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Western Wayne took on Pocono Mountain East on Friday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Cardinals. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Pocono Mountain East got the win, Western Wayne sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 27-25, 23-25, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Pocono Mountain West beat Pocono Mountain East 3-1 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Pocono Mountain West was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-10, 17-25, 25-23.

Western Wayne better focus on containing Drake Daguio and Aamier Culbreath-Butler as the pair were huge in Pocono Mountain West's win. Daguio had 11 digs, while Culbreath-Butler had ten kills and three blocks. That's the most digs Daguio has posted since back in March.

Western Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pocono Mountain West, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Western Wayne skirted past Pocono Mountain West 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
