Softball Recap: Keansburg Comes Up Short

Keansburg had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 9-6 to make it six. They came up short against the Long Branch Green Wave, falling 21-11. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Long Branch, they moved to 2-16 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20th (when they won 25-15).

For Long Branch's part, Emily Rodriguez was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Victoria Barbosa was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, Keansburg will host Manville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Long Branch, they will head out on the road to face off against Shore Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
