No. 20 Buford rolls past No. 11 Douglas County with 31-14 win.

No. 4 Duncanville (Texas) extended its win streak to nine with a 28-24 win over No. 22 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore). The back-to-back 6A Division 1 state champs were in control, up 21-16 with under five minutes remaining at the Panthers 22-yard line, but four-star cornerback Blake Woodby intercepted a Keelon Russell pass and returned it to the 6-yard line.

After a false start penalty, Maurice Medley put St. Frances Academy up 24-21 after an 11-yard touchdown run with 4:26 left.

Russell responded by leading Duncanville on a 5-play, 87-yard drive capped off with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Zach Turner with 1:57 remaining. Nehemiah Borner iced the game with three sacks on St. Frances Academy's next drive. Russell finished with 265 yards passing and three touchdowns to go with 40 yards on the ground and another score. Ayson Theus hauled in five receptions for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while Turner added 11 grabs for 131 yards and a TD.

In a matchup of top 25 opponents, No. 20 Buford handled business against No. 11 Douglas County (Douglasville) with a 31-14 win.

Junior quarterback Dayton Raiola connected with Louisville commit Jordan Allen on a touchdown with approximately 6:30 remaining in the fourth quarter to seal the victory after the Wolves held Douglas County scoreless in the second half.

No. 17 Central (Phenix City, Ala.) escaped with a 42-35 triumph over Dothan (Ala.) in a thrilling finish that saw the Red Devils stop Dothan at the goal-line as time expired after a 27-yard reception.

Central took the lead on a 53-yard touchdown run by senior running back Tristan Williams with 2:19 remaining in the back-and-forth affair.

No. 8 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) was also on upset alert Friday night as the Raiders overcame three first-half turnovers to defeat Western (Davie, Fla.) 23-15.

After trailing 15-6 at the half and 15-9 after three quarters of play, St. Thomas Aquinas took a 16-15 advantage with 11:11 remaining in the fourth quarter after four-star sophomore wide receiver Julius Jones hauled in a diving catch down the right sideline.

Jones subsequently hauled in a 58-yard touchdown reception to give the Raiders the eight-point advantage with 8:57 remaining in the game, as the promising wide receiver took over the game in clutch time.

In one of the marquee games on the high school football slate this week, No. 5 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) bounced back with a 55-28 blowout of No. 12 Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.). Junior Maika Eugenio was under center for an injured Melvin Spicer, as the three-star quarterback threw for four of his six touchdowns in the first half.

Three-star wide receiver Greg Toler was in on four scores. He hauled in two first-half TDs and recorded a touchdown pass and reception in the second half.

Bishop Gorman didn't punt until the start of the fourth quarter and scored on all five first half drives. It was a statement bounce back win for the Gaels, who battled their second straight Southern California opponent after losing to No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) 31-15 to snap a 27-game win streak last week.
