Preview: Foley Falcons vs. Zimmerman Thunder
The Foley Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Zimmerman Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After a string of three wins, Foley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by Sauk Centre on the road and fell 68-36. While losing is never fun, Foley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Sauk Centre is ranked 37th).
Meanwhile, Zimmerman pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 92-62 loss at the hands of Becker. Zimmerman has struggled against Becker recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Foley's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-5. As for Zimmerman, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Foley strolled past Zimmerman in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 61-46. Does Foley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Zimmerman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
