Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Loyola Academy Ramblers and fell 79-46. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 70-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Loyola Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will square off against Payton College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Loyola Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Aurora Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
