Football Recap: Pocahontas Takes a Loss

If Pocahontas was riding high fresh off their 38-14 takedown of Westside last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redskins and the Blytheville Chickasaws were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Redskins suffered a 21-20 loss. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chickasaws apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Courtney Rogers produced another solid effort rushing for 97 yards and one TD for Blytheville.

Pocahontas' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Blytheville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pocahontas will square off against rival Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Blytheville is set to challenge their familiar foe Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Rogers and Owen McLaughlin.
