There's no place like home for Cole Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Payette Pirates on Monday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lucas Guray made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Guray wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blake Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cole Valley Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Payette, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Cole Valley Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
