Softball Recap: Pender Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Pender, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the South Columbus Stallions by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 9-6 win the Stallions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Pender's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Katie Iddings, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Jayda Tozour also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Pender's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2. As for South Columbus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Pender will host Fairmont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pender is facing Fairmont at the right time seeing as Fairmont is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for South Columbus, they will take on West Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
