Basketball Recap: Thomasville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Thomasville won the last time they faced Bacon County, and Harmony Bryant did her part to make sure it happened again. The Thomasville Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 53-34 win over the Bacon County Raiders on Wednesday thanks in part to Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 22 boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of A'naijah Thurman, who posted two points in addition to nine assists and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Bacon County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makayla Thomas dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. Macie Holton was another key player, putting up seven points and nine rebounds.

The victory (which was Thomasville's third in a row) raised their record to 12-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Bacon County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Thomasville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-58 loss against Worth County on the 7th. Bacon County has also already played their next contest (against Brantley County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
