D'Evelyn is a perfect 3-0 against Pomona since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Jaguars will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, D'Evelyn came up short against Green Mountain and fell 6-1. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pomona can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Littleton 2-1.

Pomona got a great performance from Tyler Dempsey as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Dempsey has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gage Douglas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Pomona is 4-2 when Douglas posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-7 otherwise.

Pomona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

D'Evelyn's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pomona, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

D'Evelyn came out on top in a nail-biter against Pomona when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
