Football Recap: Page Skates Past Southern Guilford with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Page). They breezed past the Southern Guilford Storm to the tune of 47-0 on Friday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Storm are ranked 305th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Page found their leader in sophomore Zamari Williamson, who threw for 213 yards and five touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Christopher Armstrong, who picked up 54 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The victory (which was Page's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games. As for Southern Guilford, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Page will head out to face off against Dudley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. After each having a week off, Southern Guilford and Northeast Guilford will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Storm's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
