Soccer Game Preview: Clint vs. Ysleta

The Clint Lions will take on the Ysleta Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clint is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Fabens with a sharp 5-2 win on Tuesday. The score was close at halftime, but Clint pulled away in the second half with five goals.

Meanwhile, Ysleta had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Panthers. Given Ysleta's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Austin are ranked 629th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kevin Portillo and Diego Suarez scored all three of Ysleta's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Ysleta's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Clint, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
